Happy Mother’s Day, Mom!
I wanted to thank you for all of the wonderful things you have done for me. You are the best! I am a very lucky daughter and I don’t go one day with being thankful for my awesome parents.
Please enjoy your day, you’ve earned it, many times over.
Also to my Grandmothers, wonderful ladies who have also taught me a lot over the years, even though one of them has gone on to her reward, their teachings will always be with me.

So yesterday I was making a roast and it just wasn’t getting tender. I couldn’t understand why I had done everything right and was cooking it on low for a few hours, basting often…still the meat was tight and stiff. So I called my mom and asked for advice. She said to add more liquid and cover if for about an hour, and what do you know…presto! It was nice and juicy and tender. I guess Moms really know their stuff.

A recent gift from my mother…who knows me oh-so-well!
I have to take a moment to recognize mothers. The events of this past week have made me see mothers in a new light. They deserve more than a day of accolades, they deserve a lifetime of thanks.
So to my mother, a million thanks. You are the best. Thanks for all the days and nights of care you gave me, I wouldn’t be here without your love.
