Relapse

Well, this doesn’t happen to me much. I was on the upswing from my last illness and came down with a brand new one. Being sick definately sucks, but being sick twice in 2 weeks suck more. *Cough*

Sickie

I do hate being sick. The worst part is when your mind fogs up and you can’t think clearly. I did make it a whole year (technically 14 months) without being sick though, so that is something to celebrate.

Here are my tips for getting over an illness as quickly as possible and trying to keep your germs to yourself:

  • Get rest!
  • Drink fluids
  • Keep tissues nearby to sneeze and cough into
  • Stay in one area and try to keep your germs contained
  • Use hand sanitizer, before entering common areas
  • Take vitamin C
  • Take zinc
  • Take any meds that lessen your symptoms to save the wear and tear on your body
  • Eat homemade chicken soup (I have an easy recipe if you need one. I usually make a ton and freeze it.)
  • Drink hot decaf tea
  • If you have a fever, sweat it out
  • If you are congested, take a steam
  • What do you do when you’re sick?

    Under the Weather

Well, I am climbing out from under a cold that has held me hostage for the past week. I tell you, anytime I get sick anymore, I get wiped out for at least seven days. I am sure that I am failing my immune system in some way, just not sure what it is.

For now, I am contending with the stragglers “hacking cough” & “sniffy nose” in my band of tricksters. After all of this hacking is over I am sure to have abs of steel.

I do want to come out publicly in support of Zicam nasal congestion spray. The stuff is amazing and it’s homeopathic so you can it take along with your chosen over-the-counter wonder drug. Just a little squirt up your nose (which is never pleasant) and you can breathe for 12 hours. I love this stuff, especially since my nasal congestion is something akin to cement in my sinuses. Give it a try, you’ll actually be able to sleep.
