Well, my jet-setting husband is safely back in the state, which I am grateful for. Today is the air date of the Dr. Phil show that my Mom, Grandma and myself went to see taped. It starts right when I get off work, so hopefully I can rush home in time to see the 2nd half of it. If you are able to watch keep an eye out for me crying. I’m a big cryer.

Thursday is my favorite day of the week. It may because Friends and ER are on. There is little on TV that I must watch anymore, but those 2 are on my list. Also, on Thursday you can see the week starting to wind down. So that’s all I have to do today. Work is non-existant.

I thought this was cute:

At a recent computer exposition (COMDEX), Bill Gates reportedly compared the computer industry with the auto industry and stated, “If GM had kept up with the technology like the computer industry has, we would all be driving $25.00 cars that got 1,000 miles to the gallon”.

In response to Bill’s comments, General Motors issued a press release stating, If GM had developed technology like Microsoft, we would all be driving cars with the following characteristics:

1. For no reason whatsoever, your car would crash twice a day.

2. Every time they repainted the lines in the road, you would have to buy a new car.

3. Occasionally your car would die on the freeway for no reason. You would have to pull over to the side of the road, close all of the windows, shut off the car, restart it, and reopen the windows before you could continue. For some reason you would simply accept this.

4. Occasionally, executing a maneuver such as a left turn would cause your car to shut down and refuse to restart, in which case you would have to reinstall the engine.

5. Macintosh would make a car that was powered by the sun, was reliable, five times as fast and twice as easy to drive – but would only run on five percent of the roads.

6. The oil, water temperature, and alternator warning lights would all be replaced by a single “This Car Has Performed An Illegal Operation” warning light.

7. The airbag system would ask “Are you sure?” before deploying.

8. Occasionally, for no reason whatsoever, your car would lock you out and refuse to let you in until you simultaneously lifted the door handle, turned the key and grabbed hold of the radio antenna.

9. Every time a new car was introduced, car buyers would have to learn how to drive all over again because none of the controls would operate in the same manner as the old car.

10.You’d have to press the “Start” button to turn the engine off.

So here it is…Thursday. Almost Friday, yet not quite.

I don’t know what it is but it is relatively impossible for me to make it smoothly through the work week. I get to a point (this week it was this morning) where I am thinking, “Okay, that’s it. I’m done. I need the weekend! Where is the weekend already? Shouldn’t it be here by now?? How long can 5 days possibly last? Am I caught in a freaky parallel universe that doesn’t have weekends? Monday to Monday to Monday….Argh.”

There is no real solution for this problem, I just go into safe mode and only put in enough effort to “function”. I just have to learn to sleep with my eyes open.

Who votes for a 3 day work week?

…so then , my husband says to me, “You were on a real blogging kick there, that lasted like 2 days.” So now I have to blog just to spite him…the little stinker. (But I love him)

So I have been helping my friend Todd out (not that Todd, the other one) with this little video project he has been working on. Oddly, I am not really helping with the video end of it, but more assisting him with the design of his promotional materials. I think they are coming out pretty well so far. Under the critique of my more experienced husband, I would say I am learning a lot.

Sidenote: I think I am typing faster than usual lately.

Good Morning! I actually feel as though I have rested. I’ve been so wiped out lately. Yesterday was an exceptionally tiring day for me. I had real work to do at work and I did not stop rushing around until about 8pm when my husband got home. Then we enjoyed a very nice evening together, complete with Midori Martinis, good stuff 🙂

Lately I have been reading the labels on all the food I can, so I can get a sense of which foods are better for me to eat. It is really very surprising how seemingly healthy food is loaded with calories and fat. Right now I am nibbling on a very dry assortment of shriveled fruits and nuts (that contains no chocolate) and for 3 more grams of fat and 40 more calories…I could have a Three Musketeers bar! Sheesh. Okay, well I am taking solace in the fact that I know this has vitamins…but still, I’m appalled!

Happy Monday! Okay, so there’s really nothing inherently happy about a monday, but…hey lemons–> lemonade, yada-yada. It’s all about seeing the bright side, baby. So nothing much on the horizon that is noteworthy at this point. I saw The Good Girl. It was pretty good, very indie. I mean, I know it was an indie film, but it was very stylistic in that respect. It was dark, funny, a lot of straight-shooting, real-life wierdness that I’m sure quite a few people can relate to. The heavy hitting points were very subtle. I like it when film makers let you connect the dots and don’t have to spell it out with exposition dialouges. Thank you for letting me use my brain and be entertained at the same time.

Well, I bit the bullet and went to see my orthodontist yesterday (after putting it off for 3 months) I feel like my jaws are regressing a bit, so I wanted to get it taken care of if I could. He told me that my tongue is pressing against my lower teeth. Then he proceeded to drill a hole in the middle of my retainer. His years of experience tell him that since my tongue has a mind of its own that it will be amused by this odd shape and will leave my teeth alone. We shall see.

“It’s a new day, the sun is shining through. It’s a new day, this day is meant for you.” –Just Dave

I thought it appropriate since the sun is shining thru today. The tumultuous winds we’ve been having the past few days have us all thanking the skies for a calm sunny day. It’s actually very beautiful. I wish I didn’t have to be chained to this drab desk. I would love to go sit in the sun today.
