Wacky Weekend

Well, it’s been an interesting 2 days. Apparently, Christopher and I like to smash all the fun into one day and all the work into the other. None of that moderation stuff for us. Saturday was a fun-filled day that started with our design group and ended with a 1.5 hour (unsuccessful) search for Krispy Kreme donuts. Then today it was all about getting homework done. Read, read, read…and I’m only about half done.

I am also trying to figure out why I am so tired lately. These days, 10 hours of sleep does not seem to be enough. Then after being awake for about 12 hours I am ready to pass out. I have never been so exhausted in my whole life. I can’t figure it out.

Ah, well. Guess I’ll go to bed early.

All Knotted Up

We went to Knott’s Berry Farm yesterday with the “Ozzie’s” (I spell it that way to be phonetically correct.) It was a good time. I have only been there once before. I didn’t really ride anything, but it was fun to see the place again. Man, there sure is a lot to do. The guys went crazy on the big & scary rides. Kim and I just sat back in amazement. Thankfully, we hold the same view of rollercoasters: we’d rather die. So we were happy to shop around and play with little Morgan (who is so cute).

Mindless Jellyfish

Don’t ask. Just don’t ask. Work has been odd lately. There are so many strange things going on, new forms, people leaving, focus on policy, new standards…hrm.

I was sick for most of last week, even missed a bunch of work, which I rarely do. Then we went to my parents place for the weekend and my mom’s b-day. That was fun even though I was in a NyQuil haze the whole time and hacking my brains out. Saturday I went through an entire box of kleenex. That means I blew my nose 40 times. Sheesh.

I am also addicted to ER right now. My parents got me season 3 and I just can’t stop watching, I can’t wait to see what happens.

Happy Late Birthday Mom, I love you!!!!

Silly me, I thought the weekend was a time to relax. This weekend was more tiring than my work week. Friday night we went to see Just Dave play in South Pasadena. This marks the first visit to Pasadena that we didn’t get lost…Miraculous! Then Saturday, we ran some errands then hubby and I headed off to 2 different places to play cards. He went to a poker night with some work friends and I went to play Canasta at Tim and Kyle’s. I also went to visit Tim after her foot surgery. Then Sunday was a whirlwind of activity with the first half of the day spent at D-land with 2.5 Australians in tow. And the last half (from 5:30pm to 1:30 am, that’s why I say half) at a Jack Johnson concert.

The concert was great fun. He puts on a great show and even though there were 2 opening bands we still got plenty of quality Jack Johnson time. He is a great performer. Matt Costa, one of the openers, came out during the encore and they did a duet of Two of Us, from Let It Be. It was really great. Jack forgot the words a few times, which was even more fun for the audience. It sort of puts celebrities back into their skin for us, makes them real people again. Real people who forget stuff too.

Anyway, after an hour to get out of the parking lot, we finally got home around 1 o’clock. And to end the weekend on a perfect note, I slipped in some mud and fell on my butt. 🙂 Oh well, at least we were home.

Long Week

I didn’t expect that this week was going to wear me out as much as it has. But I also didn’t expect to be subbing so much this week. It’s nice to be facing the weekend. Soon, oh so soon hubby and I will both be going to school and not seeing each other much in the evenings, which makes me sad. So I am enjoying the time we have now, quite a bit.

What else? Oh yeah my mom had oral surgery this week, she seems to be doing fine. And Timbo is having her foot surgery today, poor kiddo. So I will be visiting her this weekend and probably bringing her things because she’s not supposed to move around in the beginning.

Hope you all have splendid weekend!

Today has been a very long day for me, I am now at the 12 hour mark in my workday. Luckily I am just subbing tonight. Not too much brain power involved there. My other classes went okay.

I am now half way through my second viewing of Super Size Me in a day. I just love this little documentary. It’s really well put together. A nice piece of film.
